Embarrassing moment
Last week, I was on a 2-day interpreting mission near Brest on a naval airbase. One of the flight engineers was speaking and said :
"Je me suis approché de l'hélicopter avec le chien..." and paused for me to translate.
I said "I moved near the helicopter with the dog..." and everyone burst out laughing.
Turns out "chien" is the affectionate term they use for the Flight Deck Manager!
Should have checked out this website to prepare...
