Here's an interesting tool...
Having to calculate a delivery date for a HUGE job coming my way, and rather than tick off days one by one on a calendar, I went looking for a mathematical way of calculating the date.
I found this website, which has several conversion windows for all types of calendar known to man: Gregorian, Hebrew, Islamic, Julian (used in manufacturing), and even Mayan!!
OK, so my job is going to take 80 working days. (Bear with me...)
80 working days is how many calendar days? Divide by 5 (Mon-Fri) for the number of weeks = 16
Multiply by 2 (Saturday and Sunday) = 32
80 + 32 = 112 calendar days
Today = 129th day of 2007 + 112 = 241
Enter 241 in the date calculator = 29th August 2007 = my deadline (I'm going to be busy...).
The website also provides a lot of interesting information, especially concerning the wackily inexplicable Microsoft way used by Excel for calculating dates.
